CloudSimDisk - a Java based simulator
In the information age, Data is playing a central role for the economy, the society and the environment of a sustainable development. However, the related amount of data is growing exponentially. Our digital universe is stored in large Datacenter housing thousands of servers and storage disks, consuming huge quantity of energy resulting in large CO2 emissions. To summarize,
Cloud Computing is continually evolving, and with it, the size and the complexity of its infrastructure. But assessing its performance is still an essential task and Cloud Simulators have proved their usefulness and powerfulness to face this challenge. The present Master's thesis focus on energy efficient data Storage. More precisely, it seeks to develop a better simulation of storage system considering the widely used Cloud computing simulator: CloudSim. What is Communicating Material ?
|
Following my video realized in 2011, a PhD Student (Sylvain Kubler) asked me to realize an animation video for his thesis work (available <here>). The goal was to explain clearly the principle of communicating material, how to make it and what can be its utilization in everyday life. The video was has been highly appreciated during the thesis defence.
The video has been realized in collaboration with Dimitri Humblot. |
Cisco Jabber for Legrand SA.
In 2012, I was working as an intern in the IT department of Legrand Group, Limoges (France). My mission has been to fulfill a request for the IT Director for a ToIP Mobile Solution for the Group. The aim was to provide Legrand's employees the capability to use their smartphones as their professional phone without using their personal balance. At the same time, the user should have professional features such as an access to the company address book, capability to switch a call between his desk-phone and his mobile-phone, and support for internal short dialing calls. Based on their running network architecture, and with the validation of the CIO, I choose the Cisco Jabber solution with locals Cisco Call Manager and LDAP servers. At the end of my mission, UAT was running well, and user documentation for change acceptance was ready.

Cloud Computing - Not So Green !
During my bachelor degree, I had to improve my English in order to go abroad for my Master.
One task was to create a magazine from the ground: find an idea, find a title, define our audience, our format, write down our own articles. With a week and the help of three friends, we printed the first (and only one) edition of "GreenIT". Focus on Information Technologies (IT) and their impact on the environment. Our main subject was the emerging paradigm of Cloud Computing and make people understand that behind this abstract concept, there are physical equipments consuming a huge quantity of energy resulting in excessive CO2 emissions. The articles were references but the main idea of this project was to think, discuss and compare information that we gathered during our researches. Realized with Menoune OUACIF, Gabriel Thirion and Christophe Mandra. |
ICTs arn't just devices...
|
In 2011, I realized an animation video "Guy de BandePassante" about the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on the environment. Our story line is based on Guy, a common student, who will experience an impressive immersion in a parallel wise world. The project has been supervised by Hélène Franoux and Professor Francis Lepage. The video can be understandable by a wide public audience.
The video is in French, realized with Dimitri Humblot & Benoit Hingray. |
